Description

A quick and delicious meal featuring tender beef and fresh broccoli in a savory sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced against the grain
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup beef broth or water
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooked rice, for serving
  • Sesame seeds and green onions, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the sliced beef with soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix well and let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  2. In a large skillet or wok, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the broccoli florets and stir-fry for about 2-3 minutes until they are bright green and slightly tender. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until browned and cooked through. Add minced garlic and ginger, and stir-fry for an additional minute until fragrant.
  4. Return the broccoli to the skillet with the beef. Pour in the beef broth or water and sesame oil, stirring to combine. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly and everything is heated through.
  5. Serve the beef and broccoli stir fry over cooked rice, garnished with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.

Notes
