Description
A quick and delicious meal featuring tender beef and fresh broccoli in a savory sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced against the grain
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1/4 cup beef broth or water
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cooked rice, for serving
- Sesame seeds and green onions, for garnish
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the sliced beef with soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix well and let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
- In a large skillet or wok, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the broccoli florets and stir-fry for about 2-3 minutes until they are bright green and slightly tender. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until browned and cooked through. Add minced garlic and ginger, and stir-fry for an additional minute until fragrant.
- Return the broccoli to the skillet with the beef. Pour in the beef broth or water and sesame oil, stirring to combine. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly and everything is heated through.
- Serve the beef and broccoli stir fry over cooked rice, garnished with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.
Notes
- Adjust the seasoning to your taste.
- Feel free to add other vegetables like bell peppers or carrots.
