- 4 eggs + 1 egg yolk, at room temperature
- 1 ½ tablespoons vanilla bean paste
- ⅔ cup buttermilk, at room temperature
- 6 tablespoons vegetable oil
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (177°C). Grease and flour three 6-inch or two 8-inch round cake pans.
- In a large bowl, combine the cake flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Mix until well blended.
- Add the softened butter to the dry ingredients and mix until the texture resembles small crumbs.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the vegetable oil, buttermilk, eggs, and vanilla bean paste until fully combined.
- Add half of the wet mixture to the flour mixture and mix on medium-high speed until smooth, about 1-2 minutes. Then, add the remaining wet ingredients and mix until fully combined.
- Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans. Bake for 22-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
