Description

Blackened Salmon Tacos with Avocado Crema offer bold flavors and a fresh twist.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • Salt to taste
  • 8 small corn tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cabbage
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • Lime wedges (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Mix Spices: In a small bowl, combine paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Season Salmon: Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Rub olive oil over the fillets and then coat them evenly with the spice mixture.
  3. Cook Salmon: Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the salmon fillets and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the salmon is cooked through and has a blackened crust. Remove from the skillet and let rest for a few minutes before flaking into bite-sized pieces.
  4. Blend Ingredients: In a blender or food processor, combine the ripe avocado, sour cream, lime juice, minced garlic, and salt. Blend until smooth and creamy. Adjust seasoning if needed.
  5. Warm Tortillas: Heat the corn tortillas in a dry skillet over medium heat for about 30 seconds on each side until warm and pliable.
  6. Fill Tacos: On each tortilla, place a layer of shredded cabbage, followed by the blackened salmon pieces. Top with diced tomatoes and a drizzle of avocado crema.
  7. Garnish: Sprinkle with chopped fresh cilantro and serve with lime wedges on the side.
