Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Heat the heavy cream in a small saucepan over medium heat until it begins to simmer. Do not let it boil.
  2. Remove the saucepan from heat and add the chopped chocolate. Let it sit for about 5 minutes to soften.
  3. Add the unsalted butter and stir until the chocolate is completely melted and the ganache is smooth. Allow it to cool for a few minutes until it thickens slightly.
  4. If necessary, level the top of your cooled chocolate cake using a serrated knife to create an even surface.
  5. Pour the ganache over the center of the cake, allowing it to drip down the sides. Use a spatula to spread it evenly if needed.
  6. Sprinkle chocolate shavings or curls around the top and sides of the cake for an elegant touch.
  7. Decorate the top of the cake with fresh berries, placing them in clusters for a vibrant look.
  8. If desired, carefully place small pieces of edible gold leaf on top for a luxurious finish.
