Description

Crispy Fried Shrimp is a delightful seafood dish that offers an irresistible crunch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko preferred for extra crunch)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)
  • Lemon wedges (for serving)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Rinse the shrimp under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Set aside.
  2. In a shallow dish, place the flour. In another shallow dish, beat the eggs. In a third shallow dish, add the breadcrumbs.
  3. Dredge each shrimp in the flour, shaking off the excess. Dip it into the beaten eggs, allowing any excess to drip off, then coat it with breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere. Repeat until all shrimp are coated.
  4. In a large skillet, pour enough vegetable oil to cover the bottom and heat over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  5. Carefully add the breaded shrimp to the hot oil in batches, being careful not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to transfer the shrimp to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  6. Serve the crispy fried shrimp hot, garnished with fresh parsley and accompanied by lemon wedges for squeezing over the top.
