Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Cream Butter and Sugars: In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract together until creamy and well combined.
  2. Add Eggs: Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until fully incorporated.
  3. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Incorporate Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  5. Fold in Chocolate Chips: Gently fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  6. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Prepare Baking Sheets: Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  8. Scoop Dough: Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving space between each cookie.
  9. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown but the centers are still soft.
