Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tablespoon light soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon ginger paste
  • 4 tablespoons honey
  • 1/4 teaspoon chili flakes (optional)
  • 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the light soy sauce and cornstarch. Add the shrimp and toss until they are well-coated. Set aside.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a non-stick frying pan over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and ginger, sautéing for no more than 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add the shrimp to the pan and cook for 1-2 minutes on each side until they are pink and opaque.
  4. Drizzle the honey over the shrimp and sprinkle with chili flakes if desired. Toss to coat the shrimp evenly in the sauce and remove from heat.
  5. Garnish the shrimp with sliced green onions. Serve over rice or as an appetizer.
