  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine melted butter and granulated sugar. Whisk until blended.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, whisking well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix.
  6. Fold in chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  7. Pour batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  9. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. Cut into squares and serve as is or with powdered sugar or ice cream.
