Description

A delightful seafood dish featuring shrimp and pasta in a garlic butter sauce.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz spaghetti or linguine
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • Grated Parmesan cheese (for serving)

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti or linguine and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the rest and set the pasta aside.
  2. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes, cooking for about 1 minute until fragrant. Add the shrimp to the skillet, seasoning with salt and pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until the shrimp are pink and opaque.
  3. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet with the shrimp. Pour in the reserved pasta water and lemon juice, tossing everything together to combine. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes to heat through. Remove from heat and stir in the chopped parsley.
  4. Serve the garlic butter shrimp pasta hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese.
