Method
- In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, minced ginger, olive oil, salt, and pepper.
- Place salmon fillets in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- In a small saucepan, pour the reserved marinade and bring it to a boil over medium heat. Reduce heat and let it simmer for about 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Preheat your grill or oven to medium-high heat. If grilling, lightly oil the grill grates. If baking, line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Remove the salmon from the marinade and place it skin-side down on the grill or prepared baking sheet. Grill for about 4-5 minutes per side or bake for 12-15 minutes until the salmon flakes easily with a fork.
- Once cooked, let the salmon rest for a couple of minutes. Brush the thickened honey garlic sauce over the salmon before serving.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and serve with lemon wedges on the side.
