Description

A quick and healthy shrimp and broccoli stir-fry that is ready in 25 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup water
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooked rice or noodles for serving
  • Sesame seeds and green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, and water. Stir until the cornstarch is fully dissolved. Set aside.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the broccoli florets and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until they are bright green and tender-crisp. Remove the broccoli from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the minced garlic and ginger, and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook for about 2-3 minutes until they turn pink and opaque. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Return the cooked broccoli to the skillet with the shrimp. Pour the sauce over the shrimp and broccoli, stirring well to coat everything evenly. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens and everything is heated through.
  5. Serve the shrimp and broccoli stir-fry over cooked rice or noodles. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.

Notes

  • Adjust the seasoning according to your taste.
  • Feel free to add other vegetables like bell peppers or carrots.
