Description

A quick and tasty meal featuring shrimp and vegetables stir-fried to perfection.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, grated
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1 carrot, julienned
  • 3 green onions, chopped
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Clean Shrimp: Rinse the shrimp under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. Season lightly with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat Oil: In a large wok or skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
  3. Sauté Shrimp: Add the shrimp to the hot oil and cook for about 2-3 minutes until they turn pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the pan and set aside.
  4. Sauté Aromatics: In the same pan, add minced garlic and grated ginger. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Add Vegetables: Toss in the sliced bell pepper, broccoli florets, and julienned carrot. Stir fry for about 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
  6. Return Shrimp: Add the cooked shrimp back into the pan with the vegetables.
  7. Add Sauces: Pour in the soy sauce and oyster sauce, stirring to combine.
  8. Thicken Sauce: Add the cornstarch mixture to the pan and stir well, cooking for an additional 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  9. Garnish: Stir in the chopped green onions and remove from heat.
  10. Serve: Transfer to a serving dish and sprinkle with sesame seeds before serving.
