Description

Spicy Salmon Tacos with Avocado Crema

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb salmon fillet, skin removed
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • Salt to taste
  • 8 small corn tortillas
  • 1 cup red cabbage, shredded
  • 1/2 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • Lime wedges for serving

Instructions

  1. Season Salmon: In a bowl, combine olive oil, chili powder, cumin, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Rub this mixture all over the salmon fillet.
  2. Cook Salmon: Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned salmon and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. Remove from heat and let it rest for a few minutes before flaking it into bite-sized pieces.
  3. Blend Ingredients: In a blender or food processor, combine the ripe avocado, sour cream, lime juice, and salt. Blend until smooth and creamy. Adjust seasoning if necessary.
  4. Warm Tortillas: In a dry skillet, warm the corn tortillas over medium heat for about 30 seconds on each side until pliable.
  5. Fill Tacos: On each tortilla, add a generous amount of flaked salmon, followed by shredded red cabbage and a drizzle of avocado crema.
  6. Garnish: Top with fresh cilantro and serve with lime wedges on the side.

Notes

  • Adjust spice level by adding more chili powder if desired.
  • Use fresh ingredients for the best flavor.
