Description
Spicy Salmon Tacos with Avocado Crema
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb salmon fillet, skin removed
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 ripe avocado
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- Salt to taste
- 8 small corn tortillas
- 1 cup red cabbage, shredded
- 1/2 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- Lime wedges for serving
Instructions
- Season Salmon: In a bowl, combine olive oil, chili powder, cumin, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Rub this mixture all over the salmon fillet.
- Cook Salmon: Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned salmon and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. Remove from heat and let it rest for a few minutes before flaking it into bite-sized pieces.
- Blend Ingredients: In a blender or food processor, combine the ripe avocado, sour cream, lime juice, and salt. Blend until smooth and creamy. Adjust seasoning if necessary.
- Warm Tortillas: In a dry skillet, warm the corn tortillas over medium heat for about 30 seconds on each side until pliable.
- Fill Tacos: On each tortilla, add a generous amount of flaked salmon, followed by shredded red cabbage and a drizzle of avocado crema.
- Garnish: Top with fresh cilantro and serve with lime wedges on the side.
Notes
- Adjust spice level by adding more chili powder if desired.
- Use fresh ingredients for the best flavor.
