- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 1 small onion, sliced
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sriracha sauce (adjust to taste)
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cooked rice or noodles, for serving
- Chopped green onions and sesame seeds, for garnish
Instructions
- Rinse the shrimp under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. Season with salt and pepper.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, sriracha sauce, honey, and sesame oil. Set aside.
- In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the sliced onion and bell peppers, and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until they are tender-crisp. Add the minced garlic and ginger, and cook for an additional 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the seasoned shrimp to the skillet with the vegetables. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until the shrimp are pink and opaque.
- Pour the sauce over the shrimp and vegetables, stirring to coat everything evenly. Cook for another 1-2 minutes until heated through.
- Serve the spicy shrimp stir-fry over cooked rice or noodles. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.
Notes
- Adjust the sriracha sauce to your preferred spice level.
- Feel free to add other vegetables like broccoli or snap peas.
