Description
A rich and decadent topping for your desserts.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup caramel sauce
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup milk (adjust for desired consistency)
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened unsalted butter with an electric mixer on medium speed until creamy and smooth, about 2-3 minutes.
- Gradually add the powdered sugar and cocoa powder to the butter, mixing on low speed to prevent a sugar cloud. Once combined, increase the speed to medium and beat until well blended.
- Pour in the caramel sauce and vanilla extract. Mix on medium speed until fully incorporated and the frosting is smooth.
- Add milk, one tablespoon at a time, mixing until you reach your desired frosting consistency. If the frosting is too thick, add more milk; if too thin, add a little more powdered sugar.
- Add a pinch of salt to enhance the flavors and mix until fully combined.
- Use the chocolate caramel frosting immediately to frost your favorite cake or cupcakes, or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator until ready to use.
Notes
- Adjust milk for desired consistency.
- Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
