Ingredients

  • 2 lbs sirloin steak cut into 1½-inch by 1-inch pieces
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • teaspoons ground black pepper
  • teaspoons salt
  • teaspoons soy sauce

Equipment

  • Air Fryer
  • mixing bowl
  • whisk
  • cutting board
  • sharp knife

Method

  1. Cut the sirloin steak into uniform pieces measuring 1½ inches by 1 inch.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together oil, ground black pepper, salt, and soy sauce until well combined.
  3. Add the steak pieces to the bowl and toss until evenly coated in the marinade. Let sit for at least 5 minutes, or up to 30 minutes for deeper flavor.
  4. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F for 3-5 minutes.
  5. Place the marinated steak bites in a single layer in the air fryer basket, making sure they are not touching.
  6. Cook at 400°F for 7 to 12 minutes based on your preferred doneness: 7 minutes for rare, 9 minutes for medium-rare, 10-11 minutes for medium, up to 12 minutes for medium-well. Shake basket once halfway through.
  7. Remove from the air fryer and let rest for 2-3 minutes before serving.

Notes

Cut steak pieces uniformly for even cooking. Use fresh sirloin steak for maximum flavor and tenderness. Do not overcrowd the basket, cook in batches if necessary. Ribeye can be substituted for sirloin. Allow steak to sit at room temperature for 30 minutes before cooking for best results.
