  • Measuring spoons

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground beef Choose lean ground beef for a healthier option.
  • 1 tablespoon Taco seasoning Adds a burst of flavor to the beef.
  • 1 cup Shredded cheddar cheese Melts beautifully, enhancing the burrito's richness.
  • 1 cup Sour cream Balances the spices and adds a cool touch.
  • 1 cup Refried beans Provides a hearty base and extra protein.
  • 4 large Flour tortillas Soft tortillas to wrap all the delicious fillings.
  • 1/2 cup Diced tomatoes Adds a juicy crunch and vibrant color.
  • 1/4 cup Chopped green onions Brings a mild onion flavor and a pop of green.
  • 1/2 cup Shredded lettuce Adds freshness and texture.
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil Used for cooking the burritos to a golden brown.

Instructions

  • Heat a skillet over medium heat and add the ground beef. Break the meat into smaller pieces as it cooks.
  • Cook the beef for about 5-7 minutes until browned. Drain excess fat, then sprinkle taco seasoning over the beef and add a splash of water. Stir and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  • In a large bowl, combine the seasoned beef with refried beans and half of the shredded cheddar cheese. Mix until well combined.
  • Warm the tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave for a few seconds to make them pliable.
  • Place a generous amount of the beef mixture in the center of each tortilla. Add a dollop of sour cream, diced tomatoes, green onions, and shredded lettuce.
  • Fold in the sides of the tortilla and roll it up tightly from the bottom to the top.
  • Heat the skillet again and add olive oil. Place the burritos seam-side down in the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  • Sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese on top of the burritos while they cook to create a cheesy crust.
  • Slice each burrito in half and serve warm with extra sour cream or salsa on the side.
