  • 2 pounds Sweet potatoes Choose firm, vibrant sweet potatoes for the best flavor. Peel and cube them for easy cooking.
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter Softened butter adds a rich creaminess. Make sure it’s at room temperature for easy mixing.
  • 1/2 cup Milk You can use regular milk or heavy cream for a richer taste. Adjust the amount based on your desired creaminess.

  • 1/4 teaspoon Ground cinnamon Optional, adds warmth and a cozy touch.

Instructions
 

  • Peel and cube the sweet potatoes, ensuring they are uniform in size for even cooking.
  • Place the cubed sweet potatoes in a large pot and cover with water, about an inch above the potatoes. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
  • Once boiling, reduce heat to medium and cook for 15-20 minutes until tender. Drain the water and return the sweet potatoes to the pot.
  • Using a potato masher or fork, mash the sweet potatoes until smooth and creamy, leaving some small lumps if desired.
  • Stir in the softened butter and milk until well combined. Season with salt, pepper, and ground cinnamon to taste.
  • Transfer the mash to a serving bowl and garnish with chopped fresh parsley if desired. Serve warm.
