Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups Mixed salad greens A combination of arugula, spinach, and romaine adds freshness and color.
  • 2 medium Apples Choose your favorite variety, such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp.
  • 1 cup Walnuts Roughly chopped for crunch.
  • 1 tablespoon Unsalted butter For caramelizing the apples.
  • 2 tablespoons Brown sugar Enhances the natural sweetness of the apples.
  • 1/4 cup Feta cheese Optional, adds a creamy, tangy element.
  • 1/4 cup Dried cranberries Adds a chewy texture and sweetness.
  • 1/4 cup Balsamic vinaigrette To dress the salad.

Instructions
 

  • Wash the apples thoroughly, core them, and slice into thin wedges.
  • In a large skillet, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat. Add the sliced apples and cook for 3-4 minutes until they start to soften.
  • Sprinkle the brown sugar over the apples and continue cooking for another 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally until golden brown and caramelized. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  • In a separate dry skillet, toast the chopped walnuts over medium heat for about 5 minutes, stirring frequently until fragrant and lightly browned. Remove from heat and let cool.
  • In a large salad bowl, add the mixed salad greens. Top with the caramelized apples and toasted walnuts. If using, sprinkle feta cheese and dried cranberries on top.
  • Drizzle the balsamic vinaigrette over the salad, season with salt and pepper to taste, and gently toss to combine.
  • Serve immediately for the best flavor and texture.
