Ingredients

  • 1 can crescent roll dough 8 oz
  • 2 cups cooked chicken shredded
  • 4 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon parsley chopped (fresh or dried)
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • olive oil or cooking spray for greasing baking sheet

Equipment

  • mixing bowl
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Spatula or wooden spoon
  • baking sheet
  • Oven mitts
  • serving platter

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking sheet with olive oil or cooking spray.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine shredded chicken, softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, garlic powder, chopped parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  3. Open the can of crescent roll dough and unroll it on a clean surface.
  4. Take one triangle of dough and place a generous spoonful of the chicken filling at the wider end. Do not overfill.
  5. Starting from the wide end, roll the dough towards the pointed end, tucking in the sides as you go.
  6. Place the rolled crescent on the prepared baking sheet with the point facing down.
  7. Repeat with remaining dough and filling.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown and puffed up.
  9. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Leftover rotisserie chicken works great for this recipe and saves time. Make sure cream cheese is fully softened for easier mixing. Do not overfill the rolls or they may burst during baking. Baking time may vary depending on your oven.
