Ingredients

  • 1 pound pizza dough or bread dough store-bought or homemade, room temperature
  • 3 tablespoons butter melted
  • 2-3 cloves garlic minced, or 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1-1.5 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 0.25 cup grated Parmesan cheese optional
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano or Italian seasoning
  • salt and black pepper to taste
  • fresh parsley chopped, optional garnish

Equipment

  • Baking sheet or pizza stone
  • Rolling Pin
  • Pastry brush
  • Knife or pizza cutter
  • Small mixing bowl

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Let dough rest at room temperature 15–20 minutes, then roll into a rectangle ¼–½ inch thick on a floured surface.
  2. Transfer dough to a lightly greased or parchment-lined baking sheet.
  3. Mix melted butter with garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper. Brush evenly over dough.
  4. Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan evenly over dough.
  5. Bake 10–12 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly, edges golden, and underside lightly browned.
  6. Rest 1–2 minutes, then slice into 1-inch breadsticks. Garnish with parsley if desired.

Notes

Allow dough to reach room temperature for easier stretching. Avoid too much cheese to prevent sogginess. Bake at 425°F for extra crispiness. Breadsticks are best served fresh but can be frozen and reheated.
