- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 4x8 inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth. Stir in the melted butter until well combined.
- Add the baking soda and a pinch of salt to the banana mixture and mix thoroughly.
- Stir in the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Gently fold in the all-purpose flour until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and chopped walnuts until evenly distributed.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the banana bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
