  • 2 3/4 cups All-Purpose Flour Provides structure.
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda Leavening agent.
  • 1/2 teaspoon Baking Powder Leavening agent.

  • 1 cup Unsalted Butter Softened for mixing.
  • 1 1/2 cups White Sugar Sweetness.
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar Adds caramel flavor.
  • 2 large Eggs Binds ingredients.

  • 1/2 teaspoon Almond Extract Enhances flavor.
  • 3 cups Semisweet Chocolate Chips For chocolate flavor.

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a small bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla and almond extracts.
  • Gradually blend the dry mixture into the creamed mixture until just combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Cover the dough with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  • Drop spoonfuls of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the edges are golden.
  • Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container to keep them fresh. They can also be frozen for up to three months.
