Ingredients

  • 8 oz sharp cheddar cheese cubed
  • 6 oz Colby Jack cheese cubed
  • 6 oz Havarti cheese cubed
  • 4 slices provolone cheese
  • 4 oz peppered salami
  • 4 oz large pepperoni slices
  • 6 oz blackberries
  • 6 oz strawberries diced
  • 12 oz green olives drained
  • 10-12 pieces pretzel sticks
  • 4 sprigs rosemary for garnish

Equipment

  • Large wooden serving board or cutting board
  • Small star-shaped cookie cutter
  • Sharp knife for cutting cheese

Method

  1. Use a small star cookie cutter to cut stars out of the sliced provolone cheese.
  2. Fold the salami and large pepperoni slices in half and then fold them in half again to create compact pieces.
  3. Get a large serving board and place the pretzel sticks at the bottom of the board to look like a tree trunk.
  4. Begin the tree with a row of the diced cheddar cheese at the bottom. Continue up the tree layering blackberries, pepperoni, and another flavor of cheese, making sure every layer is slightly less wide as you go up to create the tree shape.
  5. Continue up the tree layering the final four ingredients: green olives, salami, the third cheese, and strawberries, maintaining the triangular tree shape.
  6. Garnish the board with the cheese-shaped stars (place one on top of the tree to look like a tree topper) and add the rosemary sprigs around the tree for decoration.
  7. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

Each layer should be slightly narrower than the one below to create the Christmas tree shape. Use Christmas colors (red, green, white) to keep the board festive. Cut all cheese into uniform cubes for best presentation. Fold meats compactly so they fit nicely in the rows. Can be stored covered in refrigerator for up to 4 days.
