Glaze Ingredients

  • 0.5 cup Ketchup Base of the glaze, providing sweetness.
  • 0.25 cup Brown sugar Adds rich sweetness.
  • 1 tablespoon Apple cider vinegar Adds tanginess.
  • 1 teaspoon Mustard Gives a slight sharpness.

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Finely chop the onion and green bell pepper, and mince the garlic cloves.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, chopped onion, chopped green bell pepper, minced garlic, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, black pepper, thyme, and oregano. Mix until just combined.
  • Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a loaf pan or on a lined baking sheet.
  • In a small bowl, mix together ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, and mustard to create the glaze. Set aside half for later use.
  • Brush the meatloaf with the remaining glaze and place it in the oven.
  • Bake for 1 hour, brushing with the remaining glaze halfway through. Ensure the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  • Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
