Ingredients

  • 2 medium-sized lobster tails 6-8 oz each, fresh or thawed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/4 tsp dried red pepper flakes
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley chopped
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice fresh-squeezed preferred
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Equipment

  • oven
  • Kitchen scissors
  • whisk
  • Small bowl
  • baking sheet
  • Cooking thermometer

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 500°F (260°C). Position the oven rack about 6 inches from the broiler element.
  2. Using kitchen scissors, cut through the top shell of the lobster tails lengthwise, stopping just before the tail fin. Keep the bottom shell intact.
  3. Gently pull the lobster meat up and out of the shell, keeping it attached at the base. Lay the meat on top of the shell for presentation.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together melted butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
  5. Brush the garlic butter mixture generously over each lobster tail, reserving about half of the sauce for serving.
  6. Place lobster tails on a baking sheet and broil for 6-8 minutes until the meat is opaque and reaches an internal temperature of 140-145°F. Watch carefully to avoid overcooking.
  7. Serve the lobster tails immediately with the reserved garlic butter sauce on the side for dipping.

Notes

Choose medium-sized lobster tails for optimal flavor and tenderness. Fresh garlic provides the best flavor. Use a cooking thermometer to prevent overcooking. Can substitute butter with ghee for dairy-free option. Lobster is best served immediately but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
