Method
- Pat the steak cubes dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. This helps ensure a better texture once cooked.
- In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, onion powder, smoked paprika, and black pepper until well-combined.
- Place the steak cubes into the crockpot. Pour the marinade over the steak, making sure each piece is well-coated.
- Dot the steak with small pieces of butter. The butter will melt during cooking, adding richness to the dish.
- Cover the crockpot and cook on low for 4-5 hours, or on high for 2-3 hours. The steak will be tender and flavorful when done.
- Garnish with fresh parsley if desired. Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or buttered noodles.
Notes
For extra kick, add 1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes to marinade. For extra flavor, quickly sear steak in hot skillet before placing in crockpot. Can add vegetables such as carrots, mushrooms, or onions to crockpot during cooking. Can prepare steak bites and marinade the night before, then cook next day. Store leftovers in airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat gently with splash of beef broth to prevent drying out.
