Ingredients
  

  • 4 boneless pork chops about 1 inch thick
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar or white vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes optional
  • Fresh rosemary or parsley for garnish, optional

Method
 

  1. Season both sides of the pork chops with salt and freshly ground black pepper. Let sit at room temperature for 15 minutes if time allows.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  3. Add pork chops to the skillet and sear for 3-4 minutes on each side until beautifully browned and cooked through (internal temperature of 145°F/63°C).
  4. Remove pork chops from skillet and set aside on a plate.
  5. Reduce heat to medium and add minced garlic to the same skillet. Sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn.
  6. Stir in honey, soy sauce, ketchup, and apple cider vinegar. Add crushed red pepper flakes if using. Cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until sauce begins to thicken slightly.
  7. Return pork chops to the skillet and turn them in the honey garlic sauce until well coated. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
  8. Transfer pork chops to serving platter and drizzle any remaining sauce over the top. Garnish with fresh rosemary or parsley if desired.

Notes

For best results, use a meat thermometer to ensure pork reaches 145°F internal temperature. Let pork chops rest for 3-5 minutes after cooking. Can substitute tamari or coconut aminos for gluten-free option.
