Steak Patties

  • 1 pound Ground beef Use lean ground beef for a healthier option.
  • 1/2 cup Breadcrumbs Helps bind the patties and adds texture.

  • 1 large Egg Acts as a binder for the patties.
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce Enhances the savory flavor.

  • 1 teaspoon Salt Essential for seasoning.
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black pepper Essential for seasoning.
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil Used for cooking the patties.

Gravy

  • 1 cup Beef broth Forms the base of the gravy.
  • 2 tablespoons Cornstarch Helps thicken the gravy.
  • 2 tablespoons Ketchup Adds depth and sweetness to the gravy.
  • 1 teaspoon Mustard Adds tanginess to the gravy.
  • 1 teaspoon Soy sauce Enhances the savory flavor.

Instructions
 

  • In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  • Shape the mixture into four oval patties, about 1/2 inch thick.
  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes on each side until browned and cooked through.
  • Remove the patties from the skillet and set aside. In the same skillet, add beef broth, ketchup, mustard, and soy sauce. Bring to a gentle simmer.
  • In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with water to create a slurry. Gradually add to the simmering gravy while stirring continuously until thickened.
  • Return the cooked patties to the skillet, spoon gravy over them, and let simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  • Serve hot, drizzled with gravy.
