Ingredients

  • 2-3 large grapefruits
  • Optional: 1-2 teaspoons honey or agave syrup for sweetness
  • Optional: A few mint leaves for garnish

Method

STEP 1: PREPARE THE GRAPEFRUITS
  1. Start by washing the grapefruits thoroughly under cool running water. Once clean, cut each grapefruit in half.
STEP 2: JUICE THE GRAPEFRUITS
  1. Using a citrus juicer or reamer, extract the juice from each grapefruit half. If you don’t have a juicer, you can simply squeeze the halves by hand over a bowl.
STEP 3: STRAIN THE JUICE
  1. Pour the juice through a fine-mesh strainer to remove any pulp and seeds, ensuring a smooth drink.
STEP 4: SWEETEN TO TASTE
  1. Take a moment to taste the juice. If it’s too tart for your liking, add honey or agave syrup to sweeten it, stirring well to combine.
STEP 5: SERVE
  1. Pour the freshly squeezed juice into glasses. If you’d like, garnish with a sprig of fresh mint for an extra touch.
  2. For the best flavor, serve immediately over ice.
  3. This recipe yields about 2 cups of fresh grapefruit juice, perfect for 2-3 servings.
