Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1.5 lbs)
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted 1 stick
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice

Equipment

  • 9x13 inch baking dish
  • Medium mixing bowl
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Knife and cutting board
  • meat thermometer
  • Paper towels
  • Oven mitts

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F.
  2. Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
  3. In a medium bowl, combine the melted butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Stir well.
  4. Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
  5. Place the seasoned chicken breasts in the prepared baking dish in a single layer without overlapping.
  6. Pour the garlic butter mixture evenly over the chicken, using a spoon to ensure each piece is well coated.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F and is golden brown.
  8. Optional: Switch the oven to broil for the last 2-3 minutes for extra crispiness, watching closely to prevent burning.
  9. Remove from the oven and let the chicken rest for about 5 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute. Garnish with additional chopped parsley and serve.

Notes

Do not overcrowd the baking dish; arrange chicken in a single layer for even cooking. Use a meat thermometer to ensure the chicken safely reaches 165°F. Cooking times may vary based on the thickness of the chicken breasts.
