Ingredients

  • 8 oz penne pasta
  • 1 lb lean ground beef 90% lean
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese freshly grated
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Equipment

  • large skillet
  • Pot for boiling pasta
  • colander

Method

  1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions in salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked, breaking it into crumbles, about 6 to 8 minutes.
  3. Add minced garlic and Italian seasoning; saute for one minute until fragrant.
  4. Pour in heavy cream and stir in Parmesan cheese, allowing it to melt into the sauce, about 2 to 3 minutes.
  5. Let the sauce simmer for another minute to thicken slightly.
  6. Combine cooked pasta with the creamy beef mixture, tossing gently to coat.
  7. Serve immediately, garnished with extra Parmesan cheese and fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

Use 90% lean ground beef for optimal protein-to-fat ratio. Can substitute ground turkey or chicken for variation. Fresh Parmesan cheese melts better than pre-grated. Reserve pasta water to thin sauce if needed.
