Ingredients
  

Churro Ingredients
  • 1 cup Water Base for the churro dough.
  • 2 tablespoons Granulated sugar Adds sweetness to the dough.

  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable oil Used in the dough.
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour Provides structure to the churros.
  • 2 large Eggs Adds richness to the dough.
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract Adds flavor to the dough.
  • 1/2 cup Granulated sugar For coating the churros.
  • 1 tablespoon Ground cinnamon For coating the churros.
Chocolate Dip Ingredients
  • 1 cup Semi-sweet chocolate chips Main ingredient for the chocolate dip.
  • 1/2 cup Heavy cream Used to melt the chocolate.
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract Adds flavor to the chocolate dip.

Equipment

Method
 

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine water, granulated sugar, salt, and vegetable oil. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in all-purpose flour until a ball forms. Allow to cool slightly.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Heat oil in a deep skillet or pot to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Transfer churro dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Pipe 4-6 inch strips into hot oil, cutting with scissors.
  6. Fry churros for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  7. In a shallow dish, mix granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Roll warm churros in the mixture to coat.
  8. For the chocolate dip, heat heavy cream in a small saucepan until simmering. Remove from heat and stir in chocolate chips and vanilla extract until smooth.
  9. Serve churros warm with chocolate dip.
