  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper optional
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 large eggs beaten
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil for frying
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder for sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt for sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper for sauce
  • 12 slider buns
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese quartered
  • Lettuce leaves, sliced tomatoes, and pickle chips for topping

Equipment

  • large skillet
  • Three shallow dishes
  • wire rack
  • Paper towels
  • medium bowl

Method

  1. Prepare the chicken by cutting breasts into 2-3 inch squares, about 1/2 inch thick.
  2. Set up a breading station with three dishes: one with flour and spices (paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne, salt, pepper), one with beaten eggs, and one with panko breadcrumbs.
  3. Dredge chicken in flour, dip in egg, and coat with panko. Let rest for 10-15 minutes.
  4. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  5. Fry chicken for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and internal temp reaches 165°F. Drain on a wire rack.
  6. Whisk together mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, honey, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, salt, and pepper for the sauce.
  7. Toast slider buns lightly.
  8. Spread sauce on buns, add chicken, cheese, and desired toppings. Serve immediately.

Notes

Air Fryer Option: Cook at 400°F for 10-12 minutes. Make Ahead: Chicken can be prepped 24 hours in advance; sauce keeps for 3 days.
