Method
 

  1. Peel and quarter the potatoes. Finely chop the cabbage and green onions.
  2. Boil the quartered potatoes in a large pot covered with cold water over medium-high heat for about 15-20 minutes until tender.
  3. In a separate saucepan, bring a small amount of water to a boil. Add the chopped cabbage and cook for about 5 minutes until tender.
  4. Drain the cooked potatoes and return them to the pot. Add the milk and butter, then mash until smooth and creamy.
  5. Gently fold in the cooked cabbage and chopped green onions. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Serve hot, optionally garnished with a pat of butter on top.
