Ingredients
  

  • 2 pounds Potatoes Starchy varieties like Russet or Yukon Gold for a creamy mash.
  • 1 cup Cabbage Finely chopped, adds crunch and sweetness.
  • 1/2 cup Green onions Chopped, provides a fresh, mild onion flavor.
  • 1/2 cup Milk Helps achieve a smooth and creamy consistency.
  • 4 tablespoons Unsalted butter Adds richness and enhances overall flavor.
  • to taste Salt Essential for seasoning.
  • to taste Pepper Essential for seasoning.

Instructions
 

  • Peel and quarter the potatoes. Finely chop the cabbage and green onions.
  • Boil the quartered potatoes in a large pot covered with cold water over medium-high heat for about 15-20 minutes until tender.
  • In a separate saucepan, bring a small amount of water to a boil. Add the chopped cabbage and cook for about 5 minutes until tender.
  • Drain the cooked potatoes and return them to the pot. Add the milk and butter, then mash until smooth and creamy.
  • Gently fold in the cooked cabbage and chopped green onions. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Serve hot, optionally garnished with a pat of butter on top.
