  • 4 fillets Salmon fillets About 5 oz each, skin removed.
  • 1 pinch Salt To season the salmon.
  • 1 pinch Black pepper Freshly cracked, to season the salmon.
  • 1 cup Ricotta cheese Smooth and creamy.
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese Finely grated.
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh basil Finely chopped.
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon zest Adds freshness.
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice For flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil For cooking.
Garnish Ingredients
  • to taste Fresh basil leaves For garnish.
  • to taste Lemon wedges For garnish.

Equipment

Method
 

  1. Prepare the salmon fillets by removing the skin and seasoning with salt and pepper on both sides.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, Parmesan cheese, chopped basil, lemon zest, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth.
  3. Spread an even layer of the lemon basil mixture over each salmon fillet. Roll the fillet tightly and secure with toothpicks if necessary.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Place the salmon rolls seam-side down in the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden and cooked through.
  5. Remove the rolls from the skillet and let them rest for a minute before slicing.
  6. Serve the Lemon Basil Salmon Rolls garnished with fresh basil leaves and lemon wedges.
