- Gather all your ingredients in one place to make the cooking process smoother.
- In a small bowl, combine the minced garlic, lemon juice, and lemon zest. Set aside.
- Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt and pepper.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add olive oil and one tablespoon of butter. Wait until the butter melts and starts to bubble.
- Carefully place the salmon fillets skin-side down in the skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes without moving them.
- Gently flip the fillets using a spatula. Add the remaining tablespoon of butter and the prepared lemon garlic mixture. Baste the salmon with the sauce as it cooks for another 3-4 minutes.
- Once the salmon is cooked through, remove the fillets from the skillet and place them on a serving plate. Drizzle the garlic butter sauce over the salmon.
