- Clean and dry the shrimp, ensuring they are peeled and deveined.
- Trim the woody ends off the asparagus and cut them into 2-inch pieces.
- In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add the asparagus and sauté for about 4-5 minutes until tender-crisp. Season with salt and pepper to taste, then remove from skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes, sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn pink and opaque. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Return the cooked asparagus to the skillet with the shrimp. Stir in lemon zest and lemon juice, tossing everything together for about 1 minute until heated through.
- Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and serve immediately.
