Ingredients

  • 8 oz short pasta penne, rotini, or elbow macaroni
  • 1 lb ground beef can substitute with ground turkey or chicken
  • 6 slices bacon cooked until crispy and crumbled
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese shredded
  • 4 oz cream cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp black pepper

Equipment

  • Large pot for boiling pasta
  • large skillet
  • colander
  • Wooden spoon or spatula

Method

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, crumble and cook the ground beef until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Sprinkle the crispy bacon into the skillet with the beef. Stir well to combine and let flavors meld for about 2 minutes.
  4. Reduce heat to low and add the cream cheese and shredded sharp cheddar to the skillet. Stir until melted and creamy, about 2-3 minutes.
  5. Gently fold in the cooked pasta, making sure it's coated with the creamy meat mixture. Toss for about 1-2 minutes.
  6. Ladle the Loaded Bacon Cheeseburger Pasta onto plates. Enjoy hot, optionally garnished with extra crispy bacon or chopped parsley.

Notes

For best results, reserve 1 cup of pasta water before draining to adjust sauce consistency if needed. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. Reheat with a splash of milk to restore creaminess.
