Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Your favorite hot sauce for serving

Method
 

  1. STEP 1: MARINATE THE CHICKEN
  2. Prepare Chicken: In a bowl, combine the chicken pieces and buttermilk. Make sure all the chicken is well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best results.
  3. STEP 2: PREPARE THE BREADING
  4. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  5. STEP 3: BREAD THE CHICKEN
  6. Coat Chicken: Remove the chicken from the buttermilk, allowing any excess to drip off. Dredge each piece in the flour mixture, ensuring they are fully coated. Shake off any excess flour.
  7. STEP 4: FRY THE CHICKEN
  8. Heat Oil: In a large skillet, heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
  9. Fry Chicken: Once the oil is hot, carefully add the breaded chicken pieces in batches. Fry for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Use a slotted spoon to transfer the chicken to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
