Ingredients
  

  • 4 pieces Bone-in pork chops About 1-inch thick for juiciness.
  • to taste Salt Essential for seasoning.
  • to taste Pepper Essential for seasoning.
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil For searing the pork chops.
  • 2 tablespoons Unsalted butter Adds richness to the dish.
  • 1 cup Apple sauce The star of the dish, adds sweetness.
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh sage leaves Chopped, adds earthy flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon Honey Optional, for added sweetness.
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon juice Brightens the flavors.

Instructions
 

  • Let the pork chops rest at room temperature for about 30 minutes.
  • Season both sides of the pork chops generously with salt and pepper.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the pork chops and sear for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked to an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
  • Remove the pork chops from the skillet and let them rest on a plate for 5-10 minutes.
  • In the same skillet, melt the butter and add chopped sage. Stir to combine and let it cook for a minute.
  • Warm the apple sauce in a small saucepan over low heat. If desired, stir in honey and lemon juice.
  • Plate the pork chops, drizzle with sage butter, and serve with warm apple sauce on the side.
