Method
 

  1. Gather all your ingredients: banana, almond milk, cocoa powder, protein powder, almond butter, honey or maple syrup, vanilla extract, and ice cubes.
  2. Peel the ripe banana and break it into chunks for easier blending.
  3. In a blender, combine the banana chunks, almond milk, cocoa powder, protein powder, almond butter, honey or maple syrup (if using), vanilla extract, and ice cubes.
  4. Blend on high speed until smooth and creamy. Stop to scrape down the sides if necessary.
  5. Check the consistency. If too thick, add more almond milk and blend again until desired thickness is reached.
  6. Pour the smoothie into a glass and enjoy immediately.
