Ingredients
  

For the Salisbury Steaks

  • 500 g Ground beef Provides the main protein for the dish.
  • 1 small Onion, finely chopped Adds flavor to the meat mixture.

For the Mushroom Gravy

  • 250 g Mushrooms, sliced Main ingredient for the gravy.
  • 1 small Onion, finely chopped Adds flavor to the gravy.
  • 2 tablespoons Butter Used to sauté the onions and mushrooms.
  • 2 tablespoons Flour Thickens the gravy.
  • 500 ml Beef broth Base for the gravy.
  • 1 teaspoon Soy sauce Enhances the umami flavor.

  • Fresh parsley for garnish Adds color and freshness.

Instructions
 

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, egg, breadcrumbs, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  • Shape the mixture into 4-6 patties, about 2 cm thick. Set aside.
  • Heat oil in a large frying pan over medium heat. Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and keep warm.
  • In the same pan, melt butter and sauté the chopped onion and sliced mushrooms until soft and golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Sprinkle flour over the mushroom mixture and stir to create a roux. Gradually add beef broth while stirring to prevent lumps.
  • Add soy sauce, season with salt and pepper, and bring to a gentle boil. Reduce heat and let simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Return the cooked patties to the pan, spooning gravy over them. Simmer for a couple of minutes to heat through.
  • Serve the Salisbury steaks hot, garnished with fresh parsley.
