Method
 

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, egg, breadcrumbs, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Shape the mixture into 4-6 patties, about 2 cm thick. Set aside.
  3. Heat oil in a large frying pan over medium heat. Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and keep warm.
  4. In the same pan, melt butter and sauté the chopped onion and sliced mushrooms until soft and golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Sprinkle flour over the mushroom mixture and stir to create a roux. Gradually add beef broth while stirring to prevent lumps.
  6. Add soy sauce, season with salt and pepper, and bring to a gentle boil. Reduce heat and let simmer for 5 minutes.
  7. Return the cooked patties to the pan, spooning gravy over them. Simmer for a couple of minutes to heat through.
  8. Serve the Salisbury steaks hot, garnished with fresh parsley.
