- Choose fresh salmon fillets with bright color and a fresh smell.
- In a mixing bowl, combine olive oil, acid, honey or brown sugar, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Whisk until well blended.
- Taste the marinade and adjust seasoning if needed.
- Place salmon fillets in a shallow dish or resealable plastic bag. Pour the marinade over the salmon, ensuring each piece is coated.
- Cover the dish or seal the bag tightly. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, up to 2 hours.
- Preheat your grill, oven, or skillet to medium-high heat.
- Remove the salmon from the marinade and discard the marinade.
- Cook the salmon for about 4-6 minutes per side, or until it flakes easily with a fork and reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
- Let the salmon rest for a few minutes before serving.
