Method
- Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels to ensure they crisp up nicely when frying.
- In a shallow dish, combine the flour, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Whisk until well blended.
- Dredge each shrimp in the seasoned flour mixture, ensuring they are fully coated. Shake off any excess flour.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp in batches, avoiding overcrowding.
- Fry the shrimp for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and place on a wire rack to drain excess oil.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. If using, add dried herbs.
- Add the fried shrimp to the sauce and toss gently to coat evenly. Serve immediately, garnished with chopped green onions if desired.
Notes
Serve with dipping sauces and side dishes like steamed rice or stir-fried vegetables for a complete meal.
