Method
 

  1. Rinse the asparagus under cold water and snap off the woody ends.
  2. Pat the asparagus dry with a paper towel.
  3. Mince the garlic cloves finely.
  4. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat until shimmering.
  5. Add the asparagus to the skillet and sauté for about 5 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp.
  6. Stir in the minced garlic and sauté for an additional 2 minutes, stirring frequently to prevent burning.
  7. Season with salt, pepper, and lemon juice, tossing to combine.
  8. Transfer to a serving dish and garnish with fresh lemon zest before serving.
