Ingredients
  

  • 500 g Fresh shrimp Peeled and deveined, tails on for presentation.
  • 4 pieces Limes Freshly juiced for marinating the shrimp.
  • 2 pieces Serrano or jalapeño peppers Adjust heat level to taste.
  • 1/2 cup Cucumber Thinly sliced for crunch.
  • 1/4 cup Red onion Thinly julienned for sweetness.
  • 1 bunch Fresh cilantro Chopped for flavor.
  • 1/2 cup Cold water Used to blend the aguachile sauce.
  • to taste Salt For seasoning.
  • to taste Pepper For seasoning.
  • 1 piece Avocado Sliced for garnish (optional).

Instructions
 

  • Rinse the fresh shrimp under cold water, then peel and devein if necessary. Place in a large mixing bowl.
  • In a blender, combine the serrano or jalapeño peppers, fresh cilantro, and cold water. Blend until smooth. Taste and add a pinch of salt.
  • Add the thinly sliced cucumber and julienned red onion to the bowl with the shrimp.
  • Pour the blended sauce over the shrimp and vegetables, mixing gently to coat everything evenly.
  • Marinate the shrimp in the lime juice mixture for about 10-15 minutes until they turn pink and opaque.
  • After marinating, taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper. Garnish with avocado slices if desired.
  • Serve chilled with tostadas or tortilla chips.
