Slow Cooker Hot Chocolate Recipe

An easy way to make a big batch of hot chocolate in a Crockpot slow cooker using milk chocolate hot cocoa mix and whipped cream topping. Perfect for parties and gatherings.

Ingredients
  

  • 8 envelopes Milk Chocolate Hot Cocoa Mix Swiss Miss recommended
  • 64 oz whole milk or 2% milk or water (whole milk adds creamiest taste)
  • Whipped Dairy Cream Topping Reddi-wip Original, for serving
  • Mini chocolate chips optional topping
  • Chocolate syrup optional topping

Method
 

  1. Pour 64 ounces of whole milk into your slow cooker.
  2. Add all 8 hot cocoa mix envelopes to the slow cooker with the milk.
  3. Whisk the mixture thoroughly for 30 seconds until completely smooth with no clumps remaining.
  4. Set slow cooker to high heat and cook for 1 hour, stirring every 15 to 20 minutes to prevent skin formation.
  5. Switch slow cooker to warm setting after 1 hour to maintain perfect drinking temperature during serving.
  6. Ladle hot chocolate into mugs and top each with whipped cream.
  7. Add mini chocolate chips and chocolate syrup as desired for extra indulgence.

Notes

Use whole milk instead of water for the creamiest results. Keep on warm setting for up to 3-4 hours during parties. Use at least a 4-quart slow cooker. Stir every 15-20 minutes during heating to prevent skin formation. This recipe makes 8 cups total, perfect for gatherings.
