- Boil water in a large pot, add salt, and cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes, sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add diced tomatoes, salt, black pepper, and oregano to the skillet. Stir and let simmer for 5-7 minutes.
- Combine the cooked pasta with the sauce in the skillet. Toss gently to coat, adding reserved pasta water as needed for consistency. Stir in fresh basil.
- Serve hot, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese and additional basil if desired.
