Ingredients

  • 450 g Stew meat cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 3 cloves Garlic minced
  • 60 ml Soy sauce
  • 1 tsp Black pepper freshly ground
  • 0.25 cup Fresh herbs such as parsley or thyme, chopped, for garnish
  • 1 splash Worcestershire sauce optional
  • 1 pinch Red pepper flakes optional
  • 1 tsp Onion powder optional
  • 1 tsp Honey or brown sugar optional

Equipment

  • skillet
  • mixing bowl
  • knife

Method

  1. Cut the stew meat into bite-sized pieces, about 1 to 1.5 inches.
  2. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, minced garlic, black pepper, and any optional ingredients. Add meat and marinate for at least 30 minutes, up to 2 hours.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Add the marinated meat in a single layer. Sear for 2–3 minutes per side until browned.
  5. Reduce heat and cook an additional 2–3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Transfer to a serving platter. Garnish with chopped fresh herbs and serve hot.

Notes

Choose well-marbled stew meat for better flavor. Avoid overcrowding the pan. Let the steak bites rest before serving to retain juices. Great as an appetizer or main dish.
